We Care Family Vacation

The We Care Foundation recognizes that when a child is ill, the entire family is affected. One parent frequently has to take a leave of absence from their job and travel with the child to a medical center hundreds of miles away. If there are siblings, they may have to stay with relatives or friends to long periods of time. The pressure on the family makes a difficult situation even more difficult.

Vacations are usually not possible. Even if the family has the time, there is no money for a family vacation. Just a few days spent together can mean so much to the family.

Devil’s Den State Park at the foothills of the Ozark Mountains is the perfect spot to relax and renew family ties. The Vacation Program is held over the extended Labor Day weekend. The Vacation is each individual family’s chance to spend quality time together while enjoying a variety of activities. Swimming, canoeing, hiking, and nature programs are available.

Priority is given to those families whose child, for whatever reason, could not attend Camp Dream Street.

The We Care Family Vacation is offered free of charge to participating families.
